RECENT WORK

Kevin continued to have a successful 2013 with more commercial features for 'FORD FOCUS', 'RONSEAL' and 'H & M', directed by NICOLAS WINDING REFN (Drive, Only God Forgives, Valhalla Rising), which also included DAVID BECKHAM in the campaign. Kevin also had the pleasure of working on 'TERMINUS', a short film directed by Emmy-award winning KEVIN THOMAS and written by DAVID THEWLIS.

Then completed 2013 by featuring in the 'ON THE BEACH' commercial showing nationwide through 2014. Hopefully capturing the nation with the catchphrase 'TOTALLY BEACHIN'!



Pearson Education Films - 'SKILLS FOR LIFE' - November 2012
Directed by Nick Straker (Straker Films)
Kevin plays the role of 'Jay', the boss of a printing company. Filmed in 4 separate parts, each mini-film deals with a set of different circumstances within the work environment. These films are aimed at getting young people into work and give tips on how to assert and compose themselves once they are employed.

Earlier this year at the 2013 IVCA Awards held at BAFTA, London , 'Straker Films' successfully won Gold for all four films because of it's scripts, storylines and character portrayals.

Macmillan Cancer Trust - 'NOT ALONE' campaign 2013
In November 2012 Kevin filmed for The Macmillan Cancer Trust. The director was Barney Cokeliss for R.S.A. Films (Ridley and Tony Scott's film company).

'Not Alone' was based around the sinking feeling people get when they receive bad news and how Macmillan is always there to catch and support you. This commercial was very moving to participate in due to its subject matter. Broadcast multiple times daily across the UK since the 11th of February, the huge response to this visionary campaign has also been moving.




BBC 'AMAZING SUMMER' IDENT - May 2012
Kevin filmed these Idents shown across all BBC channels in Summer 2012. The concept focused on unmissable moments on TV; showing people rushing from wherever they are throughout the day, back home in time to watch their favourite programmes. These particular Idents were usually on before EASTENDERS , throughout EURO 2012, the Olympics and WIMBLEDON Tournaments.




'MONOSTEREO', Drayton Theatre, London - September 2012
Great opportunity to work with Writer/Director Raymond-Kym Suttle on the debut of his comedy farce. The play was set in a video dating agency and followed the lives of the people running it, as well as those who join the agency looking for love. Kevin played the role of 'Danny Marshall', a fashion and glamour photographer who is very full of himself and thinks he is God's gift to all women. The play was put on at THE DRAYTON THEATRE for 2 weeks. This play received a 4-star review by www.remotegoat.co.uk, "an extraordinarily accurate performance from the totally non plain Catherine Adams, and the stunning Kevin Mathurin as overdeveloped braggart Danny Marshall".


THE WORLD'S END - November 2012
Working on the the upcoming feature film directed by Edgar Wright. Starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman and Rosamund Pike and is about a group of mates that meet up for a pub crawl which turns into more than what they bargained for.

BLACK THE RIPPER 'INTRO' PROMO - November 2012
UK Hip Hop/Grime artist Black the Ripper had released his new album 'Black is Beautiful 2'. The idea developed to make a mini video for the intro track of the album. Directed by James Waterhouse (TOBY-Filmed by Zebra), Kevin played the role of a 'Playa hater' who dislikes and bad-mouths the rapper.

BIOG

Kevin Mathurin is an actor and ex professional dancer with 20 years experience in entertainment. In his early years he was a pupil of the Sylvia Young Theatre school where he starred in legendary British Television shows like Minder, Eastenders, Press Gang, The Royal Variety Performance & films such as Octopussy, An American Werewolf in London and Ellis Island.

Kevin started dancing at a young age and by his teens his talent was obvious, furthering his training at The London Studio Centre in Kings Cross.

Kevin then went on to dance professionally on the commercial circuit travelling the world appearing in Music Videos, TV shows, Fashion Shows, Arena Tours and Awards Ceremonies for Artists such as Whitney Houston to Diana Ross, Cher, Destiny's Child, Kelis, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Luther Vandross, Donna Summer, All Saints, Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, Blue & Shy FX.

As his dancing career started to wind down he went back to study Acting on 'The Advanced Acting Diploma Course' at The City Lit and has been working steadily on his craft since then appearing in many theatre productions (Eddie in Willy Russell's 'Stags and Hens', R.P. McMurphy in 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest', Terry in 'A Consumer's Dream, Danny Marshall in 'Monostereo') , adverts ( Sainsbury's campaign as Jamie Oliver's friend, BBC 'All Together Now' Summer Idents) , and the feature film 'Ghosted' with Art Malik.

This year Kevin acted in 'Toby', a beautiful short film written by Phoebe Bullock and made by 'Filmed by Zebra' productions. The film won the 'Stanley Kubrick Prize for Fiction' Award at this years Visions Film Festival for which he has received much acclaim and many new fans for his role as Oscar Sanford.
